A degree in Harmony is a prerequisite for conducting contemporary ensemble courses. Basic principles of conducting, kinesiology, elements of expression, morphology-analysis, etc. are taught in various genres and styles of music, because its repertoire includes many works of the 19th to 21st century of jazz, rock, pop and traditional music adaptations.
The student is taught conducting for the following ensembles: Big band, philharmonic band, traditional orchestra and symphonic orchestra. Rhythmic and melodic solfege are essential elements for the student as the rhythmic elements and scales of jazz and traditional music are very different from the classical data.
Compulsory courses: Solfege, morphology-analysis, history, choral and orchestral score on the piano, instrumental knowledge of modern and traditional instruments.
