In its original form trumpet was known, by the ancient Greeks to the Egyptians, the Jews and the Romans, it was made initially of wood, later of metal and finally, like today, of copper. It has a penetrating and bright tonal hue and great technical possibilities. The development of the skill in its handling has made many composers to use it as a melodic instrument of the same agility as the woodwinds and so the trumpet is today considered a very popular instrument of orchestra and band, especially in the traditional music of Macedonia and Lamia, as well as jazz music and ska music. Trumpet lessons focus on learning to breathe properly, a basic tool for handling it, as well as on the correct placement of the hands. Through the lessons the student acquires plasticity in his movements and in combination with the right technique he can achieve playing with skill and melodicity.
