Tasos Korkovelos was born and raised in Thessaloniki. He began his studies in classical piano at the age of 5 at the Conservatory of Northern Greece where he studied for ten years with the teachers Aphrodite Filippidou, Ioanna Gyftaki and Milena Molova. Then he switched to jazz piano with professor Grigoris Simadopoulos at the Philippos Nakas music school, where he also studied jazz theory and harmony. In 2008 he continued his studies in jazz piano and music production with a scholarship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2010 he moved to London and obtained the Audio Engineering Diploma from the School of Audio Engineering (SAE Institute). In 2014 he started studying at the online department of Berklee College of Music with the aim of obtaining the Masters Certificate in Orchestration for Film & TV.
From 2001 he started working as a professional musician in the local music scene of Thessaloniki, but also of Athens, with participations in numerous music groups from the whole range of music, giving hundreds of concerts both in Greece and abroad. Indicatively some bands with which he has collaborated with, both on stage and in the studio: My Excuse, Koza Mostra, Monika, Blue, Xaxakes, DeNiro, Bitapis, George Avramidis, Vassilis Papadopoulos, George Economou, Souled Out, And.Id, Motherfunkers , etc. He has appeared on music stages and festivals in London and America, as part of tours (Boston, Miami, Chicago, New York, etc.).
At the same time, since 2014 he has been working as a music producer in his personal studio, recording discographic works of bands (Koza Mostra, George Avramidis, Polkar, VOLATAC, Cosmic Union, etc.), voiceovers, writing music for media and composing his own works, and In 2016 he started collaborating with AMS Studios and Lessons of Stelios Tsombanidis as an in house music producer / sound engineer and piano teacher, as well as with Anatolia College as music director / conductor in the music and theater performances of his students. From 2017 until today he works as a professor of Music Technology and Sound Recording at IIEK Delta.
