Tachtsidis Ilias was born in 1992 in Thessaloniki. He started his first steps on the piano at the age of 8, through private lessons, before continuing his studies 3 years later at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki (K.O.Th.), where he took lessons with the piano teacher George Kyratsos, participated in various activities and concerts as a member of the choir of K.O.TH. and as a piano soloist or as an accompanist in chamber music. He has been distinguished in 2006 with an A commendation at the 22nd Panhellenic Music Piano Competition, organized by the Association of Alumni of Thessaloniki Conservatories, while he has also given a concert with the student orchestra of KOTH, conducted by Mr. Fotiadis Demosthenes. In 2012 he participated in the course “UnlimitedMusic & Arts” in Vyzitsa, Pelion, organized by the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. In 2014 he successfully completed his studies, receiving a Piano Diploma from K.O.TH. with a grade of 9.5 / 10 “Excellent”, and since then he has been giving piano lessons at home to young students. From 2017 until today he has worked in various conservatories of the city, giving compulsory piano – classical piano lessons, including the conservatory ” Ams’ ‘ in the city center, the Cultural Association of Lagyna and the conservatory “Nota-Nota” in Polichni. At the same time, he participated in various events, accompanying on the piano the I.N.Saint Raphael Choir, conducted by Mr. George Karakasis. He has collaborated with Mr. George Karakasis, also in the presentation of his book, entitled “Six Traditional Dances of Western Macedonia for piano”, performing his pieces on the piano. He has participated in 2 recordings performing on the piano:
- The Pontian song “To Thaman”, with creators Giannis and Abraham Gosios and released in 2019,
- In the piece “Open Eleni”, a piece taken from the book “Six Traditional Dances of Western Macedonia for piano” by Mr. George Karakasis, and was released in 2019.
